Etymology  Acrochordus: from the Greek acrochordon, meaning 'wart'.
arafurae: referring to the Arafura Sea.

Northern Territory, Queensland, Western Australia


Mainly freshwater streams and billabongs, but they will enter estuarine areas and the sea.
