North-east Queensland; from about Townsville, north to the tip of the Cape York Peninsula, various Torres Strait Islands and into New Guinea.
One specimen recorded from Magnetic Island, off the coast of Townsville. This was possibly an escaped pet or translocated individual.2
Also known from the Whitsunday region3. These have been claimed to be escapees (or their progeny) from Rob Bredl's now-closed reptile park, but this seems doubtful.

Found in the following Australian states/territories

Rainforests in the Wet Tropics, but found in drier forests further north on Cape York.
