Description

Light brown to fawn on top, paler on sides, with irregular darker blotches.

Taxonomic notes

Moved from Morelia to Simalia.
The relationship of S. oenpelliensis to other python species is still unresolved, with analysis of different genes suggesting different relationships (summarised in Barker et al. 2015). Its placement within Similia is tentative pending more in-depth genetic analysis.
