Etymology  Glaphyromorphus: 'polished form'1
clandestinus: "From the Latin 'secret', in reference to the secretive nature of this species."2

Known only from a single location, 425m above sea level on Mount Elliot, Bowling Green Bay National Park, near Townsville.2 Surveys at higher and lower altitudes on the mountain failed to find any additional individuals.2

Found "among moist humus that had accumulated beneath exfoliating granite slabs."2
