Lygisaurus: 'flexible lizard'.1
abscondita: Latin for concealed/hidden, referring to this species being 'hidden' within the Carlia aerata group (L. malleolus in particular) and its subsequent detection with molecular techniques.2 |

Description
Olive-brown, with the hindlimbs and tail being lighter than the rest of the body; underside of limbs and tail with feint, dark speckles.2 Similar species
Taxonomic notes
This species was described by Worthington Wilmer, Couper, Amey, Zug & Roberts in 2005, but was originally placed in a different genus.2
