Etymology  Lerista: apparently meaningless.1
rochfordensis: 'from Rochford-(Scrub)', the type locality.

North-eastern Queensland. Known only from Rochford Scrub and Boori Station, south-east of Charters Towers.2

Found in the following Australian states/territories



Dry rainforest. Specimens have been collected from lancewood and bendee vinescrub, and semi-evergreen vine thicket on sandy soil.2
